Karenza Sparks is a cartoonist, writer, designer, illustrator and maker, born in Cornwall and currently based in the UK. She graduated with a BA in Illustration Animation from Kingston School of Art in 2021, and since then has worked on all kinds of projects - usually with a focus on storytelling, games and interactive design.
Growing up in Cornwall she was surrounded by the coast, woodlands and expanses of farmland. As a result her work has a preoccupation with nature, materialising as everything from speculative biology, to
sustainability communication, to drawing freaky little creatures.
Her debut graphic novel
The Corus Wave is set to be published by Avery Hill in October 2025.
